The AI Campus is a joint initiative dedicated to driving educational innovation at regional, national, and European levels. Our work is organised into a range of projects that foster AI and data skills through innovative digital learning opportunities. Both ongoing and completed projects, coordinated by the AI Campus office at the Stifterverband, are presented on this page.

Funder: Mercedes-Benz Fund
The Mercedes-Benz Fund’s co-funding aims to ensure the sustainable, long-term impact of the AI Campus. As an anchor partner, the Mercedes-Benz Fund is supporting AI Campus 3.0 until 2030. Within this collaboration, fresh momentum will be created - particularly in the field of “AI as a core competence” - with new learning opportunities and additional formats for AI training and continuing education being developed.

The AI Campus Hub Baden-Württemberg is part of a comprehensive AI ecosystem being created with the Innovation Park Artificial Intelligence (Ipai) in Heilbronn. The Hub strengthens Baden-Württemberg as a location for AI innovation with digital learning opportunities on artificial intelligence and a wide range of community activities.

As part of the Future Mission Education initiative ("Zukunftsmission Bildung"), Stifterverband, IBM and the AI Campus are joining forces to strengthen the sovereign use of AI in both education and the world of work. The collaboration focuses on creating joint learning opportunities and offering certificates from IBM SkillsBuild through the AI Campus.

The second funding phase ran from 2023 to 2024 with an expanded consortium and a focus on strategic partnerships. The key aim was to develop and test sustainable implementation concepts for the AI Campus, including open learning opportunities, communities, and technologies for academia and practice.

As a digital learning platform specialising in AI, the AI Campus was funded from 2019 to 2022 by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the German Government’s AI strategy during an initial pilot phase. The main goal was to develop a prototype of the platform.
