The AI Campus is Stifterverband’s learning platform for Artificial Intelligence. With free online courses, videos, podcasts and tools, we strengthen AI competences in society.

The AI Campus is aimed at students, working professionals and other lifelong learners who are interested in Artificial Intelligence. It is also aimed at institutions such as universities, companies and public administration that would like to integrate the AI Campus learning opportunities or participate in the AI Campus with their own learning opportunities.

Use of all AI Campus learning opportunities is free of charge. In addition, all original AI Campus content is available under an open licence (usually CC BY-SA 4.0), which permits free re-use and, for example, integration into your own teaching. Costs may only arise for examinations and the issuing of certificates if these are external learning opportunities that are recommended on the AI Campus.

The AI Campus’s vision is an AI-competent society. The learning platform aims to convey knowledge about Artificial Intelligence and to inspire more people to engage with this topic. Learners should be enabled to understand AI developments, critically question them and actively help shape them. In this way, the AI Campus addresses the acute skills shortage while at the same time promoting responsible and informed use of Artificial Intelligence in society. By 2030, we would like to have reached 500,000 people and at least 100 universities with our learning opportunities.

From podcasts to videos and courses through to the “Micro-Degree” – the AI Campus offers learners a broad selection of high-quality learning opportunities on various topic areas of Artificial Intelligence, bundled on one platform. All offerings aim to provide AI competences at academic level. All learning content referred to as “AI Campus originals” is developed specifically for the AI Campus. Existing learning opportunities from other platforms are selected according to academic quality standards and recommended on the AI Campus as “External”. Our learning opportunities are openly licensed and available free of charge. On the learning opportunities page, you can use filters to select the right learning opportunity or ask our chatbot. 

The range of topics extends from AI fundamentals and the responsible use of AI in line with the EU AI Act, through interdisciplinary issues, to in-depth content, for example in the field of machine learning. In addition, we offer online courses that specifically address the needs of particular subject areas and professional groups – for example in medicine, school education, university teaching or public administration. The learning opportunities are continuously being expanded. On the learning opportunities page, you can use filters to select the right learning opportunity or ask our chatbot. 

No specific subject-related prior knowledge is required for introductory learning opportunities. In-depth learning opportunities require the relevant prior knowledge, which is stated in the respective description of the learning opportunity. All learning opportunities aim to provide AI competences at academic level.

For getting started, our free introductory courses are ideal. On our “Artificial Intelligence for everyone” page you will find suitable learning opportunities for beginners – for example on AI fundamentals, generative AI and the responsible use of AI in everyday life, study and work. To take part in a course, simply create a free account and then enrol on the relevant course.

In general, you do not have to be enrolled at any university to use the AI Campus learning opportunities online. For some courses, however, embedding in degree programmes is additionally possible in a blended-learning format, which also ensures the awarding of ECTS credits. In individual cases, enrolment is required for this.

For selected courses, ECTS credits can be awarded, which may be recognised or credited in consultation with the respective university. However, the AI Campus cannot provide a general guarantee of recognition. Please contact your university directly with your specific request.

To register with us, first visit our website and sign up there. After registering, you will receive an email with a verification link. Click on this link to set your password.

Please note that the verification link is only valid for 24 hours and can only be used once. If you cannot find the email, please check your spam folder. If you have difficulty using the link to set your password and receive the message "The link is no longer valid", this may be because the email organisation has already clicked the link due to phishing protection measures. In this case, we ask you to use a different email address for registration. In most cases, this works without any problems.

Even though we regret that you would like to delete your AI Campus account, we want to make the process as easy as possible. Click on your avatar at the top right and select Profile. There, select Edit profile, scroll all the way down and click on Delete user account. 

Yes! On the AI Campus, there are confirmations of participation, records of achievement and micro degrees.

You will receive an AI Campus certificate of participation if you have accessed at least 50 per cent of the learning content of an online course. You will receive an AI Campus evidence of achievement if, across all assessed tasks in a course, you have achieved at least 60 per cent of the total score.

A Micro-Degree is a thematically bundled learning programme consisting of several related online courses. With a Micro-Degree, you can demonstrate the successful completion of an entire series of courses. You can find the exact requirements on the page of the respective Micro-Degree.

You can use AI Campus certificates of participation, evidence of achievement and Micro-Degrees, for example, for your CV, applications, further training or your profile on professional networks such as LinkedIn. Which certificate you receive depends on the respective learning opportunity and the requirements stated there.

To find your courses: Click on your avatar at the top right and select My courses. You will be automatically redirected to the Moodle learning environment and will gain access to your courses there.

Most learning opportunities can be completed flexibly according to your own schedule. You can find information on this in the description of the respective learning opportunity.

In the learning opportunities overview, you can use various filter functions. For example, you can use the filter by difficulty level and choose between "Beginners", "Advanced" and "Experts". You can also ask our chatbot to help you choose a course that suits you. Your choice naturally also depends on which subject areas you would like to develop further in or whether you are pursuing a specific learning goal.

The European AI Regulation provides that providers and operators of AI systems strengthen AI competences among the people who work with AI systems. The AI Campus supports this with free learning opportunities that explain the fundamentals, possible uses and requirements relating to Artificial Intelligence in an understandable way – for example with the course “EU AI Act Essentials”. The Bundesnetzagentur also recommends the AI Campus as free support for building AI competences. The learning opportunities do not replace legal advice, but they can help you use AI in a reflective and responsible way.

If you have forgotten your password, you can easily reset it. Follow these steps: Click on "Log in" in the menu at the top right of the page. In the log-in window, select the link "Reset password" below the input fields. You will then receive an email with a link that you can use to set a new password. Please note that this email may occasionally end up in your spam folder. Once you have set the new password, you can log in again with your username and the new password.

You can make certain settings in your profile yourself, including changing your profile picture, password and email address (only the username is excluded).

Here is how to proceed: Click on your avatar at the top right of the website. Select “Profile”. Then click on “Edit profile” and follow the instructions on the page to make the changes you want. Don’t forget to save your changes at the end!

Cooperation with other platforms and initiatives is considered a guiding principle in the implementation of AI Campus. Yes. All content on AI Campus is free of charge, openly licensed and ideal for curricular integration. For example, you can incorporate it into your course as self-study learning opportunities or as part of a blended learning concept. In Moodle or other learning management systems, you can embed complete courses or use individual materials. Some learning opportunities are also available in English. You can set the language via the filter option in the overview of learning opportunities. The English-language offer is being continuously expanded.

We use generative AI tools to support the creation of online courses, blog posts and texts for our public relations work. All AI-generated content is subsequently reviewed editorially and adjusted if necessary. AI-generated images are labelled by us.

We provide our registered learners with AI chatbots that help them select a suitable learning opportunity and answer content-related questions. Via our LLM-Chat, they can also experiment with various large language models (LLMs) without personal data being transmitted to the underlying AI providers.
