Overview
Almost every area of life is characterised by growing volumes of data. The more digitalisation penetrates the world, the more obvious the need becomes to be able to handle data competently.
The aim of this course is to raise awareness for purposeful and secure handling of data and their conscious and ethically considered use.
What content can I expect?
- The entire data lifecycle (establishing a data culture, data protection, providing, managing, analysing, interpreting, classifying and publishing data)
- Datasets and exercises to immediately apply and try out what you have learnt using real environmental data
- First steps in programming with Python in Jupyter Notebooks
- Sensitive handling of and approach to data
What will I achieve?
After completing the course...
- I can describe the relevant process steps in the sensitive handling of data (data provision, management, analysis, interpretation, classification) within the research data cycle.
- Apply some of these steps to an open data project,
- in order to later be able to assess data and datasets in a professional context with greater sensitivity and professionalism and to specifically deepen aspects from the research data cycle.
What requirements do I need?
- No requirements, basics
